- The One minute Practice

 

 


 

 

In today’s article, we will see how one minute may have more effect in your life than you realize. You had to come only one minute early to avoid missing the time of your train or plane, and only one minute can make all the difference in time for you to escape a fatal accident. We notice that a tiny fraction of time called a minute can turn anything either positively or negatively. And today we will talk about the tremendous impact of this minute on your life and your destiny.

               

 

 

 


Today’s exercise is about another way of dealing with time, we are going to talk about time saving & to be exact we are talking about the effect of saving only one minute. What I mean is for you to spare one minute of every hour of your day. These minutes you are saving will be your safety fortress. Every hour passing by you deal with a lot of mental and psychological activities, feelings, thoughts, words and events, and all these events and thoughts consume the battery of your safety and security in this life.

 

Here is what you are going to do, every hour you need to halt everything for one minute, take a breath, close your eyes and say in your mind:

 

 

 

 

 

This is a great mental behavior for you, and if you stick with it every hour of your day, you will have 24 minutes every day of charging and refreshing yourself and your life. Some might say, for instance, that I might miss three continuous hours without sparing this minute. And that’s OK, so when you miss it for three hours try to take a break for 3 minutes, with a very intense focus on Allah, your worship of him, and your pure intention to him, trust me, you cannot imagine the magnitude effect of this simple practice.

 
At night, you will be having approximately eight hours of sleep and stillness, so you will pay the eight minutes in advance, and you will sit for eight minutes before going to sleep and be with your God with your heart, thank him for allowing you to move and work during those hours. Spend these eight minutes of your life worshiping your lord and then go to sleep. The believers who are so advanced in their worship to Allah, do this exact same thing, but instead of having only one minute per hour, they increase it up to ten minutes, and with more practice & progress in their worship, the whole hour itself will become a process of worship despite their focus into their professional, family, sports or educational activities. The path of pure worship is long, but it begins with practicing only for one minute per hour.

 
Perhaps some will say, but a minute is a very short time and is not enough. I will tell you what matters is the intensity and focus of your heart in that minute, and the shorter the time, the more you can control your focus and reverence. So at the beginning of your training, do not exceed one minute at the time for it to be focused & effective without distracting your mind. And remember, A minute of concentration and reverence is better than a ten minutes without mindfulness.

 

It is wrong to remain weeks and months away from remembering God in yourself and your mind, and then remember him once a year for a season and spends hours  reading Qur’an or praying. This way of worship is unhealthy. It is so much better to remember worshiping your Lord every hour for one minute, than forgetting him for weeks and remembering him for a whole day.
